Solomon Rapoport's personages assignment

The two most important people from the Renaissance were Leonardo da Vinci and William Shakespeare because both of their contributions not only affected people 500 years ago but also play a major role in modern society. As well as being a renowned painter and sculptor, Leonardo da Vinci also contributed to modern day-engineering, architecture, and understanding of anatomy. For example, Leonardo was fascinated by flight and even drew plans for a hang glider and a helicopter. He also worked on designs for warfare, including military tanks, submarines, catapults, and other weapons. Leonardo's work in anatomy included dissecting human corpses and making over 200 drawings of the human skeleton and organs. Leonardo's studies advanced the fields of engineering and anatomy.

William Shakespeare was also a figure from the Renaissance who made major contributions to the modern world. Firstly, his many plays, sonnets and poems are still studied today. He’s also responsible for revolutionizing modern English. Throughout his many works, Shakespeare invented 1,700 words, many of which we use in our everyday language. In conclusion, Leonardo da Vinci and William Shakespeare are such important people from the Renaissance because their work was not only important during the Renaissance, but they also helped mold the modern world.
