Sammy's Renaissance Personages Assignment

William Shakespeare is one of the most important people of the Renaissance era. Shakespeare is undoubtedly the most renowned playwright and poet of all time. He wrote many plays and poems, which are all beautiful and are still performed or recited today. Shakespeare is known for enriching the English language with his contributions to it. He created over 2000 words and expressions, helping make it the language of the world. Shakespeare evolved the art of play writing. His plays were beautifully written, and they displayed all types of human personalities. Poems used to be the art of nobles and gentlemen, so what makes Shakespeare's achievements all the greater is that he was a rustic man without a regular college education. Shakespeare expanded the art of poetry to all classes.

Another important figure in the Renaissance was Michelangelo Buonarroti. Michelangelo is among the greatest artists and sculptors of all time. Michelangelo is famously known for both his statue of David and his painting on the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel. Michelangelo redefined the way to paint nude sculptures. He loved to depict the male body in many different poses. Just as Shakespeare gave us literary views of many different types of people, Michelangelo gave us many different visual views of the human form. He is highly regarded as the best artist and sculpture of the 16th century.

Shakespeare and Michelangelo are both defining figures in their respective fields of work.
