David Zucker Renaissance Personage Assignment

William Shakespeare

In my opinion, William Shakespeare and Christopher Columbus are the two most important people who lived during the Renaissance. Shakespeare contributed over two thousand words and phrases to the English language, thus helping to establish English as one of the most important languages in Europe. Now English the most commonly spoken language in the world. Shakespeare's works are still studied by much of the world. Also, the film industry continues to develop films based on themes created by Shakespeare. Shakespeare is so important because of his long-lasting effect on the world.

Christopher Columbus
Christopher Columbus is very important in a way similar to Shakespeare. Like Shakespeare, Columbus’ accomplishments have had a lasting effect on the world. Columbus discovered the “New World,” what is now known as America. Columbus’ discovery allowed Europe to colonize the “New World” and lay the foundations of a country that is now a world superpower.

William Shakespeare and Christopher Columbus are the two most people who lived in the Renaissance because their accomplishments still affect the world today.
